Frequently Asked Support Questions

Common queries answered regarding local installation, model configuration, and vault recovery.

Ensure Ollama is running locally on your computer (typically at http://localhost:11434). Open AliDesk Settings or click the brain icon in the top header, select AliAI Provider, choose Local (Ollama), and click "Detect Models". AliDesk will automatically populate your installed models (such as Llama 3, Mistral, Phi-3, or Qwen) with zero cloud network leakage.
Because AliVault employs strictly zero-knowledge AES-256 GCM encryption, Elevoire engineers never hold or store your decryption keys. The only way to restore your encrypted secrets without your master password is by using the 24-word Recovery Keyphrase generated when you first initialized the vault. Please keep this recovery phrase printed or secured safely offline.
No! AliDesk is built from the ground up as a local-first desktop environment. AliDoc, AliSheet, AliSlides, AliPDF, AliNotes, and AliCode function with full offline independence. You only require an internet connection if you opt into external cloud AI APIs (like OpenAI or Gemini) or cloud file synchronization.
You can access diagnostic logs directly from inside AliDesk by pressing Ctrl + , to open Settings > Diagnostics & Logs > "Reveal Logs in Explorer". On Windows, logs are safely stored in your local AppData directory: %APPDATA%\AliDesk\logs.
